In a two-part podcast, we look at the region of Eastern Europe. At the beginning of 2024, economists from the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies forecast GDP growth of 2.5 per cent for the eleven Eastern European EU member states in 2024. This region is therefore likely to become the economic engine of the European Union this year.

Many German companies are active in Eastern Europe, have a subsidiary or even a production unit there. But what local challenges do the treasury departments of these companies have to contend with?

In this second part of the two-part podcast episode, we take another look at the topics of risk management and financing together with Alexander Spieker, Roman Fust, Thomas Isenrich, Jan Brehm and Stefan Bolz.

Alexander Spieker has worked for several years as an interim manager in the area of corporate treasury for medium-sized companies, has been a member of the VDT for more than a decade and has been active in the VDT's Risk Management department for many years.
