Professional Profil & Qualification
The Professional Profil & Qualification focuses primarily on the long-term development of young talent in the field of treasury, thereby making an important contribution to securing the future of the profession. A key focus is on developing and expanding a targeted range of training courses and seminars that specifically prepare both newcomers and young talent for a career in treasury, whilst also catering to those with professional experience.
Furthermore, the department is committed to raising the profile of the treasurer’s role in Germany and highlighting its importance to the economy and society.
Through targeted public relations work and collaboration with universities, companies and industry associations, the department helps to position treasury as an attractive and forward-looking career field.
We define treasury functions and set standards for the role of the treasurer – both within organisations and in the public eye.
The Professional Profil & Qualification department team comprises experienced treasurers with a wide range of practical knowledge and is complemented by the specialist expertise of supporting members and the professional expertise of experienced professors from various German universities.

Our training programmes play a key role in the professional development of our members. The seminars bring together the latest specialist knowledge, build practical skills and encourage networking within the sector. In this way, we ensure that our members are well equipped to meet the demands of a dynamic working world.
Prof. Dr Franziska Kahla has held managerial responsibility for the Professional Profil & Qualification department as a member of the Executive Committee since November 2025. She also heads the Northern Regional Group and is responsible for organising the regional meetings. From October 2022 to November 2025, she served on the VDT Executive Board and was an active member of the B&Q department.
