Equity & Debt

The Equity & Debt department deals with the topics of debt and equity capital as well as internal company financing. Based on the needs of VDT members, the department's team imparts knowledge, provides information on current market developments and represents the interests of VDT members in dialogue with regulators and other market participants.

The core of the Equity & Debt team consists of treasurers with a wealth of experience in corporate finance and is supplemented by the specific knowledge of sponsoring members, who ensure that the team has constant access to relevant developments on the financing markets and in regulation.

When communicating with members, we want to create added value by presenting topics - which are otherwise often only viewed one-dimensionally - in a holistic manner from the treasurer's perspective.

Regulatory requirements will continue to have an increasing influence on the financing of a company. We want to inform our members about relevant developments at an early stage and highlight possible options for action. The initial focus will be on the areas of ESG and capital adequacy requirements for loans.

Andreas Sowa was a member of the Executive Board of VDT e.V. from 1 November 2016 to 27 October 2022. He was responsible for the Equity & Debt division. Since 27 October 2022, he has continued to manage the department as a member of the Executive Committee.

ESG

The Equity & Debt department works in close cooperation with the other VDT departments on treasury-relevant aspects of ESG.

Supply Chain Financing

As part of the implementation of the Basel IV requirements in EU law, unsecured credit lines are likely to become more expensive. We therefore want to provide information on alternatives such as asset-based lending and reverse factoring.

Capital market financing

When should a company consider obtaining a credit rating? What pitfalls can arise from covenants and do LMA standards always have to be followed?

Subsidies

When is it worthwhile for a company to consider incorporating subsidised loans or grants? We want to inform you about this.

Best practice tips

We are currently developing best practice tips on all aspects of financing.
