Duty of the → policyholder’s in the sense of an obligation to provide the insurance company, prior to the conclusion of the contract, with the information relevant to the assessment of risk and the determination of the premium rate, by means of the insurance application. The pre-contractual duty of disclosure is laid down by law in the → Insurance Contracts Act (VVG) (Section 19 VVG).
