A mutual insurance association (VVaG) is one of the legal forms permitted for a mutual insurance company in Germany, Liechtenstein and Austria. → Insurer. The → Policyholder are members and sponsors of the association. In exceptional cases, mutual insurance associations may also conclude individual contracts in which the à Policyholder does not become a member (non-member insurance).
