A mutual insurance association (VVaG) is one of the legal forms permitted in Germany, Liechtenstein and Austria for a → Insurer. The → Policyholder are members and sponsors of the association. In exceptional cases, mutual insurance associations may also enter into individual contracts under which the à Policyholder does not become a member (insurance for non-members).
