Smart Contracts: are smart contracts that execute themselves, without human intervention, on the basis of the programmed code. Contract terms are encoded in a computer protocol or code. As soon as certain events occur, the actions specified in the code are automatically triggered. Ideally, it is no longer necessary to set out a contract in writing. For example, in a transaction, payment terms can be programmed to be executed automatically once the specified conditions are met. (Publication date: 8 March 2021)
