Smart contractsare intelligent contracts that execute themselves, without human assistance, on the basis of the stored programming language. Contract terms are stored in a computer protocol or code. As soon as certain events take effect, the results stored in the code are automatically triggered. Ideally, a written contract is no longer necessary.
