The European Markets Infrastructure Regulation, known as EMIR for short, has been a focus of Corporate Treasury for many years. The regulation was published in 2012 and implemented in Germany in 2013. Since then, it has been subject to repeated revisions and amendments. The latest amendments, known as EMIR 3.0, were published in the Official Journal of the European Union last December. The regulation has been in force since 24 December 2024. The deadline for the draft regulatory technical standards to be submitted to the European Commission is 25 December 2025. In this podcast episode, you’ll find out what the latest changes mean for corporates, how companies are dealing with them, and what else is in the pipeline from a regulatory perspective.
