Covenants are often an integral part of many loan negotiations. They are often complex in terms of their structure and design and only become significant in the course of business when a covenant breach is imminent.

As part of a VDT online event, which took place on Thursday, 14 November 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we gave an introduction to these credit clauses. The three speakers Charlotte Thesing, Tobias Jäger and Hajo Neugärtner, members of the VDT's "Equity & Debt" department, explained the basics of the correct handling of covenants from a practical perspective and gave participants who are still inexperienced in this area a structured introduction to the world of covenants.
