In our latest podcast episode, we take a closer look at the VDT’s recently published guide, ‘Treasury and ESG’. Together with my guests today, Jutta Demant and Prof. Dr Heinrich Degenhart – both of whom were involved in the working group that produced the guide – we discuss what prompted the association to develop this guide and which companies will find this publication of particular interest.

But that is not all: the VDT wishes to provide its members with further support in implementing ESG reporting within treasury. At present, the association is focusing on reporting between companies, banks and investors. Coordination discussions are already underway between the VDT and the banking and insurance associations. The aim is to ensure that data requirements have content and structures that are as simple and harmonised as possible. We are also preparing training programmes on ESG reporting from a treasury perspective.

Jutta Demant heads up the treasury and insurance divisions at Currenta, a chemical park operator, and has been a member of the VDT and its Cash & Liquidity division for more than a decade.

Prof. Degenhart is a member of the VDT Executive Committee. His main role is as a professor of finance and financial management, conducting research in the fields of sustainability and renewable energy.
