A successful start for the first English-speaking VDT event in Berlin!
Together with many international treasury and finance professionals, we had an inspiring evening full of valuable discussions, new perspectives and strong networking opportunities at the Deutsche Bank Quartier der Zukunft.
The event was opened by Peggy Schumm, representing the Verband Deutscher Treasurer and organizer of the event, as well as by our host Alexander Brüdgam from Deutsche Bank Quartier Zukunft.
Following an introduction to the Verband Deutscher Treasurer by Prof. Christian Debus, the panel discussion focused on an important topic for our growing international treasury community:
“Navigating your Treasury Career: Trajectories in Established & Tech Treasury”
A special thank you to our panelists:
- Daria Golokhvastova
- Felix Luber
- Diego Salazar
- Michelle Wichmann
and especially to our moderator Thomas Woelk, who travelled from Munich to guide us through the discussion and the audience exchange.
The discussion covered topics such as:
- entering treasury from different professional backgrounds,
- the role of language in day-to-day business,
- mentoring and networking,
- and how associations and companies can further support international professionals in treasury.
A particularly interesting takeaway:
While many treasury functions already operate in highly international environments, language and local networks still play an important role in collaboration, stakeholder management and career development.
At the same time, the exchange highlighted how international and diverse the treasury community in Germany has already become.
After the panel, there was still plenty of time for networking, further discussions and a relaxed get-together. A special thank you to Deutsche Bank for the great hospitality throughout the evening.
Thank you to all speakers, participants and everyone who contributed to the open and engaging discussions. We are looking forward to continuing and expanding international formats like this within the VDT community.
